ITV planning to resurrect Tiswas

Well if MoM comes back in January,i think they should show Power Rangers SPD [or Time Force because thats the best series!].

CiTV treated PRT,PRiS,PRLG and PRLR a lot better,but when GMTV got the rights back they didn't show much of the series. GMTV should give the rights back to CiTV really.It would allow more money for GMTV to go into their programmes.

Tune in to Dick & Dom this Saturday (3rd December) ... and you'll see the members of the TiswasOnline website dressing up in Rabbit suits and singing Bright Eyes... (in the Strangely Talented slot).

Sound familiar? It should do... remember the 5 year old kid that did it on Tiswas (Matthew Butler)... he's now a 30 year old chap who's going to do it again this Saturday...

I have a personal interest in this, I help run the Tiswas site... and I too will be dressing as a rabbit on Dick & Dom. Oh Lordy!

To be honest, going back on-topic, I am always in 2 minds as to whether Tiswas would work again these days. For my money, you don't really need to try and revive the specific format - the point was, there wasn't one. Tiswas evolved over the course of 8 years along with what kids of that time wanted. These days kids want different things - although in many ways you'll find similarities. Both Dick & Dom and MoM are following 'in the tradition'... but as soon as they try to match Tiswas, they risk falling flat. I blow hot and cold on this one, and change my mind regularly...

I think the BBC want them to be their new Ant n Dec, but I reckon that's because of lazy journalists comparing them despite being very different. D&D have said in interviews they have no desire to follow A&D's career plan, they have said as much that they know they probably can't hack it in primetime (this was before Ask The Family).

Nobody knows what's going to happen after the Bungalow ends in spring 06, although I'm wishfully thinking they can be persuaded to carry on. If you've never watched the show you won't know that its success hasn't been down solely to the pair's own performance; it's the team as a whole including Ian Kirkby, Dave Chapman and Melvin Odoom that make it so special.

Dick and Dom have just publically said that the rumours are a lie.

Though one of the people on 'Strangely Talented' (part of Dick and Dom) did use to be on Tiswas.

;/ I could understand SPD (even if it's slightly crap in compariastion to Dino Thunder, Tommy ftw) but why Time Force? That's like puting pokemon series 1 when you have Pokemon Advanced...battle isn't it now?

Time Force is my favoruite anyway.

The reason why i chose it is beacuse from Turbo till Lightspeed Rescue,it was on CiTV and it was treated quite well.Then,GMTV wait till about June,then show up till the one where Wes's visor gets broken,and i don't see the rest of Time Force! Well,apart from when i've been to my sisters house [she's got Digital].

Yeah, he's part of our website - that was the main reason we wanted to do it, Matt had been the signing rabbit on Tiswas all those years ago. Incidentally I was the (portly) one on the left with the Rabbit head on.

We spoke to Dick & Dom after the show about the Newspaper stories, and again they said that the stories were sadly completely false. We've looked into it at the Tiswas site and it would appear that certain rumours or ideas that had been suggested on DigitalSpy, had been taken as fact by some newspaper-hack.

Dick & Dom are great fellas and they took time to have a good natter with us, pose for photos, talk to some of our friends on the phone... Toadfish on the other hand, was a complete n0b. Sad, really...
