ITV need to stop the copycat attitude now as well. "Oh they've done it we'll try and do it ten times better" How about ten times worse?

Whether it's on C4, ITV1 or the Disney Channel, it'll be the same old same old car crash tv that it always was. Perhaps a "Couldn't care less" option could be added to the poll.

Let's give them a break for a while. Maybe CA's departure will mark a change in how things are done at Network Centre. If they don't clean up this time round I fear ITV could be somewhat unsalvageable.

As I said in the BB thread I don't think Endemol are stupid enough to overlook C4 and move to ITV. That original article seems to suggest ITV have the bigger financial clout - but activities of the last year suggest that it's C4 who have the money to spare at the moment!

This is also showing ITV's main problem - they are obsessed with Big Brother and trying to topple it! Only a couple of months ago ITV commissioned a survey which concluded Big Brother was past it and "fans" thought it should come to an end - so a few weeks later ITV now want it!

Don't know how accurate the reporting of the existing contract with C4 is - I certainly recall when the current deal was signed that it had some sort of rolling term in it!

All in all ITV need to stop worrying about the opposition and take a good look at themselves, making programmes for the channel, not for the slot!

They also need to stop putting all their eggs in one basket - one show being a flop shouldn't really have such an effect on a channel!

If ITV ever get their hands on Big Brother I think we can not only say goodbye to the programme but goodbye to reality TV in general.

In that case, hope ITV gets the show!

Indeed, there can be two sides to that arguement. Wink

Yes I'll be sure to do that.

I hope this is just a rumour, as much as some people hate BB, it wouldn't seem right if it moved to ITV, I mean the V/O (Marcus Bentley), Davina, Dermort etc... wouldn't be the same.

Basically it's more a Channel 4 formatted show.

And I like watching it. Embarassed

DON'T YOU DARE ITV, DON'T YOU FR***ING DARE!

They have their own sh!t. Let Channel 4 have their own popular sh!t.. but its gooood sh!t.

1. CA, itv is past it, lost in a generation trying to re-capture past glories, they should just scrap itv and launch new channel.

2. Problem is, anything itv does looks un-professional, for example, it's news coverage is a bit too mumsy at lunchtime and too full on shouting at dinnertime, Channel4 news, can actually be comical and run news stories like Brain Training on the DS, to their coverage of the Middle-Eastern Conflict, but at the same time achieve a professional result.

3. Itv has no reason to exist, BBC exists because it has to, it's government run. Channel4 exists as a channel to have diffenent views and actually causes a discussion between viewers and the government eg Brass Eye, ITV has no reason, it has no objectives other than to make money, people have cotton'd on to this and this is why viewing figures are going down.

4. ITV has no obligation in the future on digital tv where it programming is very specific to show any childrens programmes on itv1 as they already have a childrens channel, at the moment they should have to be obliged to do the normal amount just like the BBC, so could everyone stop whining about CITV has gone to the dogs, i'm sure it wil., come back with some origional programming and have a Saturday morings programme to be proud of.

p.s. what does itv stand for, idiots tv or international?
