Last night I thought I'd stay up and see ITV Nightscreen for the first time in 13 months, and it was brilliant.

Lots of useful information about up and coming shows (new cartoon Mr Bean to be shown in December) and the relaxing music sways you to sleep. They even have something like this halfways through-text says 'Evening Tonight on ITV for-' and the companies logos come into screen (Things like UTV 1993-2000,Border 1995-1999,Granada 1993-1999,Yorkshire 1982-1987!!!!) and then the scedlule came up. Seperate ones come up for the SMG companies and the other half of the TV companies (Carlton Westcountry shows a 30 minute program from 5.00am to 5.30am-London doesn't)

Absolutly brilliant-it should get it's own channel!

Someone has said that before, but that logo is actually the current 'off-screen' logo, and is still used.

I would rather see ITV taking off their overnight programmes with the regions showing their local teletext services like SCOTTEXT in the STV region combined with selected local TELETEXT pages.

A bit like the old 4-tel on view and Oracle on Channel 4, but more regionalised.

as we dont get itv night screen on central - central jobfinder instead, do they mention central on itv night screen? - if so what logo do they use, and what logo for westcountry?

I can't remember if Central is mentioned or not, but if it is, the logos are the Carlton Logo, on a white background, with the region directly underneath in white text on a red background.

Nightscreen is in a bit of a mess at the moment. UTV, Tyne Tees, YTV, Border and Channel all have the wrong logos. They still separate UNM channels from Carlton/Granada despite the fact that they now show the same feed, they don't show the YTV optout for Jobfinder or the YTV/TTTV optout for the Asian film on Sundays or Central's Jobfinder/Asian Eye optouts, the fact that they mention Central at all is a puzzle since Central doesn't show Nightscreen and half the programme previews are out of date.

In short, the usual Intelfax mess, just like the local teletext.

I can't understand why all regions can't just opt out and show local Jobfinder pages, with a networked introduction. That might actually count as a public service, rather than this rubbish.

I don't like Nightscreen because it is crap, and it doesn't update the logos or the screens. That Mr Bean screen was put up over 6 months ago!!

Does anyone remember that nightscreen pre 1998 and digital TV the graphics were the same as Teletext!

So back then it was slow boring and no pictures!

So if you think it is crap now it was even worse then!

Thanks to Nightscreen Mr Bean Cartoon will be on ITV soon!
