What can you remember about the format of the breaks between programmes in ITV's Night Time service, before we had the introduction of the ITV Play strand, other words we are talking between when the service first began up until about 2005-06 when ITV Play began.
I'll post my remeberances later but I'll let most of you post yours first.
I didn't think they had ad breaks during overnight ITV Play programmes these days. I thought they just ran straight through. I have this cap though which is from some time last year and in the clip to go with it, The Mint presenter welcomes viewers back after the break.
I just remember that they used to fill the breaks with PIFs. About 2003-ish they were still showing ones going back to about 1990.
I can actually remember a few of those shown in 2003 when I was setting a few Night Time programmes. I know around then that they showed mainly road safety and special needs one. I'll try and post another message with those that I can remember seeing.
Nowadays, as well as showing the back soon caption, they also show trailers for upcoming programmes that usually run on for much longer than their original showings earlier in the day.
There were lots of Think! adverts in that time, they were about wearing seatbelts, what to do if your car breaks down, cycle safety and horse riding safety. The last three have never been shown outside of ITV Night Time programming, I presume anyway.
One about a postal scandal.
One about fire safety.
And there was one about trains, people walking on the tracks, of course.
