Shame on ITV for lack of interest in the New Year. They are showing an old film 'True Lies' with Geraint Vincent of ITV News promising to see the new year in with us! What a joke!

But ITV do this every year so its hardly anything new. They obviously prefer to provide an alternative to BBC1 and BBC2 on New Years Eve.

Im glad Geraint will be seeing in the new year with us though Wink

There's the People's review of 2006 at 10pm

Of course Channel 4 and Five are providing no special programmes at Midnight either

STV are putting a bit of effort in with Colin and Justin. Basically I think it's just traditional Scottish hogmanay programming with "special guests".

But surely people who are going out won't be watching and a lot of people that are staying in won't be staying up past midnight just to watch Big Ben chiming. A load of people will already be in bed.

Therefore I think ITV1 airing I Was There: The People's Review 2006 at 22:00 is quite enough really.

I wonder if ITV2 will join ITV1 at midnight - it seems that their first programme in 2007 starts at 00:05!

Some people might prefer to watch a film and just tune in for the bongs at Midnight!

The programme at 10pm on ITV1 looks like it might be worth a watch.

Well that drama with Suranne Jones looks like it will be worth watching - other than that is a normal Monday evening at ITV1 really.

What does it matter? Everyone with a proper social life that is not ill, tired, pregnant etc will be out and won't need the telly.

And before you start, I'm off out at 9

What a strange programme this is turning out to be!

The idea is good and some of the footage is great but im not sure whether it's New Year's Eve material.

Good effort regardless and great to see those breaking news straps behind Katie Derham's head!
