Did anyone see the West Wing on E4? For a mock news programme on it, they used the ITV News theme tune, I cant remember the name, 'A' something. Does ITN let local American news stations use it or something?

That is seriously weird! I didn't see the programme, though. God knows how they got hold of the ITV News music!

A mix of the music is available on a KPM library CD, which means any media company can obtain it and use it as long as they pay the neccessary royalties.

God I saw that earlier this year when the episode first came out -- I was so shocked! How the hell did they get permission to use that music!? And I've never heard it on any local TV news here either.

KPM CD 402 - Peaktime TV

Track 1 if your interested Smile

Most ITV regional news themes are on library CD as it's generally cheaper for them. Many aren't listed as News themes for obvious reasons, but they can be sniffed out Smile

Well I've even heard the ITV News theme on an advert on local radio, advertising furniture or something.
