Why do they even bother putting a time in the name? I mean OK, sometimes (well, more often than not) it's a bit on the late side albeit close enough to 10pm, but tonight they put the thing on at 11 and
still
call it the News at Ten!
I can't help but feel that ITV are really insulting their viewers' intelligence and making general arses out of themselves by doing this, or is that the style that they're going for these days?
Still! At least with the changes to Corro they'll be 30 seconds closer...
EDIT : NOW I understand! They're trying to pick up viewers by catching the people tuning in for "the hidden side of Britain's sex industry" immediately after - classy.
I suppose technically speaking they were within their right to still call it "News at Ten"
because it
was
shewn at 10 pm GMT (as opposed to 10 pm BST).
As I said every time this comes up, which is generally daily:
If its between 10 and 10.30 it's called News at Ten and Trevor McDonald will think about presenting it
If its after 10.30 its called ITV News and Trevor won't entertain staying up so late.
The fact that Radio Times or whoever don't understand this is another matter.
Also I note that people don't notice when News at Ten actually is at 10. Throughout the whole of June, July and August the News at Ten was at 10, now in September it isn't people have started to notice again!. No doubt the original poster just had a look at his listings and thought about having a rant, and wasn't a viewer of tonight's film. If he had have been he'd be complaining that the film was cut in two halves

To be fairer, my EPG disagrees - alright, perhaps just an oversight on the part of some poor data entry clerk, but what does it take to show a sodding regular bulletin?!
It could be worse. ITV1 could have decided that their main nightly bulletin would be called the "ITV News at Ten with Trevor McDonald" whenever it was shown.
We'd then have the situation where it's the "ITV News at Ten with Trevor McDonald at Eleven with Mark Austin"

I hope not. That kind of Americanism is silly, especially when the presenter isn't there half the time (which Trevor often isn't). I've lost track of the number of times I've watched the 'ABC World News with Peter Jennings' only to be greated with another guy saying 'Good Evening, Peter Jennings is off'.
