ITV News Revamp in FEB 2004

here is a topic all about the itv news revamp early in february 2004. Are all regional news studios going to look the same. i like the calendar studio at the moment. it will be a shame to see the studio changed so soon.

i like the itv news studio at the moment. any ideas what the studio might look like or how you would like the itv news to look when it relaunches in feb 204

This is probably the biggest revamp ever, to change the national ITV1 bulletins, the ITV News Channel & the regions on one day is a massive task.

What do we know so far ?

- All regions to get generic titles / set to coincide with the new national ITV News set.

- Regional programme names will remain along with theme tunes

- Titles will feature region specific images along with the blue & yellow boxes

- ITV News to go widescreen on the same date

- ITV News at the new regular time of 10.30pm commences

- New set is rumoured to be a virtual set

will this relaunch see the end of the big ben clock face and the spinning globe.

So, the current theme tunes will all be put alongside the same set of titles? But surely some of the theme tunes just won't go with those titles?

Since all titles will contain different images, perhaps each will also be adapted to the music.

what will happen to the current studio desk when they get the new one in feb. i would not mind having a desk that size or the actual one that has been used since 1999 does anuone know where they sell things like that.

Do you mind using punctuation? Or are your Shift, Caps Lock, Aphostrophe, Comma and Full Stop buttons broken?

You just have to love people correcting spelling or grammar using incorrect spelling or grammar themselves, don't you?

And I would say people being bossy and patronising are far more annoying than the poor grammar.
