Why do they go and Granada-ify all the sites a week after the merger? Rolling Eyes

All the ITV Regional websites look Crap now. On the Meridian website, the forum seems to have disappeared Crying or Very sad

With respect, what was there to talk about on a Meridian website?

I wonder if/suspect that Katie Derham will be one of the main afternoon (1-4?) presenters on the News Channel when the new London News service launches.

I wouldn't be surprised seeing as it will be broadcast from ITN. But then again, I expect not. After all, you don't see the main female anchors of, say, Central News popping in on the NC.

Btw, thanks for the schedule details. Wink

Was Steve Scott really ITN's Africa correspondent for two years?

But I'm sure they'll want to get the most out of their presenters, what with the NC being a lean and mean operation.

And Alastair already combines the NC with London Tonight.

Unlike the Central News presenters, Katie will be in the same building and is already familiar to national audiences.

Could you rephrase that for me please Altowers!
Is your idea that the news is shown at 10:30 5 days, so like on mondays and tuesdays it wouldn't be on at 10:30 due to 2 hour dramas?

Isn't that the idea of the new time that it starts consistently at 10:30. I quite like the 6 day system sunday-friday, and when the premiership's gone, it can go saturday aswell, so that people know when to find the news! That's the idea!

I mean the drama could and should be on from 8:30 - 10:30.

I remember him reporting from abroad for ITN in the 90s.

And why oh why do the Evening News need 2.5 hours in the main set. 4-6pm is when news channels potentially attract the most viewers and i wouldn't be surprised if most of them assumed that was the main ITVNC studio.
