After seeing the weekend bulletins using the generic titles (as seen on the News Channel) I must say they don't work as well when the main title sequence begins. For the main titles (12.30/6.30/10.30) the Big Ben clock face looks as if it is in the middle of the globe, but on these it just fades out.
Surely they could have done some sort of on-the-hour titles for the news channel (they would only need 12 versions!) or even just a close up of the hour hand hitting 12. That's about my only critism.
Also, notice that on Central News they've tinkered slightly with the integrated bulletins, now with the presenter insisting on a long introduction. It looks much better when they go straight into it.
Re: Weather. I assume the weather sting is just to cope with OFCOM rules re: sponsorship in the news. As the national headlines now have a title sequence, wouldn't it be better if it was scrapped, with regional bulletins ending with their short titles, then the weather, then the national headlines.

Oh, so it's a morning programme! Makes more sense than evenings I suppose. But weekend mornings tend to be slow news days, so we'll have to see what format it takes.

Angela Rippon just confirmed, on Look North of all programmes, that her show on the ITV News Channel will be Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 11am and that she can't wait to get back involved doing live tv

The automation seems to run the ads and trails at xx:56 on the dot - the weather keeps getting cut off early.
Very interesting re. the Angela Rippon programme. I guess it'll be the sort of programme that will give the NC plenty of original material from interviews to use for the rest of the day - like Sunday with Adam Boulton does with Sky News, and Frost for the BBC etc.

Chris Rogers has just had a relapse to his Sky News days, thanking Peter Spencer in Westminster when he meant Peter Murphy.
