Something has always confused me about the ITV News set, at the start of the show when the camera is looking down at the desk from high, you can actually see people walking above the set, is there actually a newsroom above or is it camera trickery ?
If ITV feel compelled to keep this set, then perhaps they could move it into the newsroom, it would be much more interesting if people where moving about in the background.

I went on a tour of BBC Leeds in about 1995 and the desk then (it was pre-pre-corporate, ie. before the spaceship style desks!) was just basically a bit of wood with a couple of wires for microphones.
We were shown round by Mike McCarthy and Sophie Raworth (the then presenters and now of Sky News and BBC Breakfast fame). The studio in Leeds was really big and had a side studio for the short bulletins (the self-opt) and a bit off the back for the weather (which may now be part of the main studio - not sure!)

Does everyone get a personal tour of the ITV News studio, with Dermot and Mary?
I'd like to visit the ITV News set, when they give it a new look when they decide to change it - which is in about 2 years??
(Dont post for a few days and when I return the post section has changed... )
Do ITN give tours of their studios?

Didn't think ITN would give behind-the-scenes tours but there you go. Anyone got behind the scenes images of the BBC News (past or present)?

All the times I've been in the BBC News Centre I wasn't allowed to use my camera - but Huw Edwards let me use it to take some shots of him in N6 whilst I was there - they came out but where all blurred and washed out due to the lights....
I have a couple of shots of the BBC Weather Centre and the desks where the main BBC One/Two bulletins are put together on the computers.
