I am sorry to say that I think ITV News was the best for the latest news of the attacks in America. And all afternoon there were no breaks on ITV! I couldn't believe it! But it is sad what happened though.
I agree, Kirsty Young was very impressive this afternoon. ITV had better coverage and better footage, we don't normally see ITV doing this type of Breaking News coverage, but it wasn't a problem for them. They seemed quite well prepared for dealing with Breaking News stories.

You have not seen ANY commercials on American TV today (except for like 'crap' channels) -- this never happens. But then again, something like this has never happened either…
Yeah i have to agree that ITV1 had much better coverage than BBC1 (this doesnt usually happen) but for some reason ITV1 just seemed to give a bit more of on the edge of your seat viewing as no-one actually knew what was happening or could have predicted any of it!
It has been the most enthralling news item i have ever seen and top marks to Kirsty Young who will be the Dermot Murnaghan of this disaster (ie Dermot was there with Diana.....)

Alek, I know what NBC and ABC are doing but what about Fox? Are they relaying Fox News Channel? Are there any more major channels?

Sorry it's taken me a while to answer this, but at least here in New York, the local Fox station, Fox 5 is using their own coverage -- but this is probably due to the extenuating circumstances in New York -- I wasn't able to watch all of the coverage because I was in school, but I would not be surprised at all if Fox and Fox affiliates would use FNC. One of the problems is that Fox stations are VERY independent and usually independently owned, so they can really do whatever they hell they want.

Granted, bad circumstances, but are ITV1 really thinking we can be fobbed off by jumping an entire episode of Crossroads? I know that it's continuity has been notoriously bad since 1964 but surely the Tuesday ep. is being re-run?
Yes, I thought ITV's coverage wiped the floor with the opposition. Well done ITV!
Where BBC are let down is that they switch to News 24 too much for these things.
From what I saw on BBC News 24, it seemed too repetitive, showing the same clips far too close to when they last played them. I know it's a hard thing to report on, but I think that some clips were played far too often. I'm not sure I am a fan of rolling news anyway. Too much repetition signifies for me not enough material to be broadcast.
