Dog, for God's sake, smile. Virtually everything I read from you is a negative or phrased in such a way that it screams "Bad day". Surly is the buzz word. Taking a mic off in vision isn't "bad discipline".

I sit here in disbelief sometimes on how ultra-fanatic some of the coments on this forum are. I mean, does it really matter if Presenter A is on for 15 minutes less on Monday than Tuesday? You tell me.

And for someone to claim that ITV News 'has the edge' over the others because Presenter B took off his mic is just sheer bollox.

Did I disagree at any point?

Do you not think it's possible to agree with you whilst criticising your surly, tiresome and holier-than-thou attitude? If you think the dicussion's bland, don't participate. Just spare me the constant talking down. Taking a mic off doesn't make a channel edgier, NOR does it show "bad discipline". That is also ****, so stop spouting it if you want to criticise everyone else's ****.

The sheer amout of fanaticism on these boards is laughable to anyone who actually works at any of the places being discussed. Some of your comments and predictions in particuar make for excellent breaktime reading for us. Please, continue.....

Nicely edited Mr Dog. I have to hand it to you. Glad you re-read before making an embarrassing mistake. But as I say, if you're so bored by it all, don't bother posting. MY point is virtually everything you say is negative and surly, but you haven't addressed that.

Please continue...

I also notice the increasing presence of Emma Murphy, who has voiced over reports from ITN for the News Channel for a while, though her live reports have appeared on ITV1 over the last two weeks.

She was reporting from Tipton on Five News tonight.

Philip Reay-Smith's reports also crop up on both ITV News and Five News.

Does ITN still have a "core news" department servicing the full range of the company's clients? I know they used to, but I thought it had been disbanded.

It's a minor point, but does anyone else notice how the yellow strip in the middle of the astons on the News Channel can be seen behind the slug?

It's hard to describe, but it looks messy the way that the yellow strip cuts through the middle of the two lines of text on the slug

Trevor McDonald on the News at 10.30 with what sounds like a very sore throat. Shocked

Trevor sounds terrible tonight! Will his voice hold out for the whole bulletin?!

I don't think Trev should have presented tonight, it's really off putting listening to him when he is clearly struggling.

Could we be in for an Anna Ford moment with Felicity coming on to rescue him ? Laughing

Indeed, Someone should replace him, Leyla Daybelge's on duty tonight isn't she?

EDIT: Oh yes I forgot Felicity was there anyway!

Not Leyla tonight - Sasha Herriman and Heather McCarthy have been the evening NC presenters

The graphics aren't quite right tonight either - several stories in the first half just had generic graphics, and the text was missing for others
