The Newyddion studio is the same one used by BBC Wales. The big screen/sofa is used for the 6:00 update as Wales Today are in the main one (just a few feet away!)
When the main 7:30 bulletin is on, they use the main Wales Today set but the backdrop points at the Millennium Stadium rather than the view of Cardiff Bay.
Newyddion broadcasts major world news stories, but does lean heavily towards Welsh news though. For example the Indian earthquake would be 2nd story, favoured by something like the welsh baby-trading Kilshaws.
It has two main evening bulletins:
6.00pm - Ten minute summary of the days main news, which is broadcast from the newsreader standing on the little stage in front of the big screen.
and, 7.30pm - A 30 minute programme from the main newsdesk, with (As James points out) the Millenium statium in the background.
Not exactly a new look, but for Good Friday the titles for ITV News have been slightly modified. They follow the 'ITV Weekend News' pattern but without the circular, repeating words at the left during the headline sequence.
When the titles fell into place after the headlines at lunchtime they were simply 'ITV News'
Oh, I almost forgot. Mr Voiceover I would love any S4C sounds and pictures you have. The higher quality the better. You could post them on your webspace for all to see.
Thanks

Consider it done! - I'll upload it within the next hour or so.
Does anyone remember the ITV Early Evening News with this very quick frenzied theme tune with a load of notes, and the camera panned down from the top of the ITN glass news building, and focused on John Suchet on one of the floor in the studio - I liked that!
Yes that was great, no other broadcaster did news like that during the time, it was groundbreaking. It still wouldn't look out of place today. ITV Need to make use of that glass building again in it's bulletins, it just looks good. ITN made a right mess up of this evenings bulletin, there was no sound on the opening headlines at all.
Any sounds for Newyddion, Mr Voiceover?
Anything during the programme would be great!
By the way, the pictures are brilliant

I loved the old NEWS AT TEN studio room. It was a dark black and navy blue colour. I think they should change it back to that, but with a few modifications. When News at Ten came back this year, I was hoping they would change back to the dark studio, but they didn't. D'oh.

I also loved the old NEWS at TEN music. Now its been shortend and not as good. BBC's news graphics are the best at the moment. I like C4s music.

What are you lot on? ITV News is by far the best news program on the television. You're all just biased because you love crappy News 24 so much.
ITV is the best because it's different. BBC News always go for dull graphics, I mean beige - come on, surely you don't like that. Their astons are dull, whereas ITV's are colourful and, most of all, not static.
BBC - beige, beige and a bit of red.
ITV - electric blue, hot peach, bright red.
I agree that news is all about content and not really about presentation, but in my opinion, ITV News is best content-wise as well. It appeals to everyone, whereas BBC can be a little too complex with their explanations. ITV know what interests the viewers, which is why there are more 'human interest' stories. They soften the blow of the more hard hitting stories.
Anyway, rant over, it's only my opinion. I suppose BBC News isn't that bad.
