When is ITV News relaunching. I'm fed-up of the show currently.

probably when their franchise renews - January?

Probably when ITV1 changes its look early next year.

If ITN wins the contract which they probably should, is there expected to be an aesthetical change to the ITN studio or just merely a drop of the ITN logo from the aston. I know if they win, the pay-off will be something like, John Sergeant, ITV News, Location but doesn't that sound crap compared to ITN which is an institution - it's like trying to change the name of BBC News to BBCTN - how riduculous. What does anyone else think?

Makes sense actually - ITN News stands for Independent Television News News! News is there twice, so using the ITV name removes it. BUt I think ITN's name should stay on the endcap. BTW, in yesterday's Sun, Spiting Image was referred to as being made by Central, not Carlton as it's now called. Good man, my Sun!

I do think it is time ITV news had a facelift - the current look and music is truly awful. Also - maybe somebody could confirm this - but am I right in saying the current design for ITV news was quite rushed because it happened when the original News at Ten axing decision was made and ITV wanted to get the new schedule up and running almost immediately - including new look. Even Sky looks better than ITV at the moment. Maybe a redesign is coming. ITV are supposed to be having a complete re-think arnt they of news presentation - now that ITN has won back the contract, and Kirsty Young has quit?

Well thats a bit different, ITN are a news provider, now they have expanded and ITN is more than just news on one channel, its on several channels and even their own channel, and on other channels for which they provide news they brand it C4 or C5 news.

The Sun - or rather NewsCorp - doesn't like Carlton. They launched into a huge attack on them saying things like they only made cheap gameshows and docusoaps. They totally ripped into them and praising Granada.

i think itn is a highly respected international newsgathering organisation - and they are well known throughout the country - and thought as on-par with bbc. compare that to ch5 news (although it is made by itn) im sure given the choice people would rate itn more than ch5.

itv are desperate to paint that tacky logo everywhere - when they have the opportunity of using a ready made brand which is on par with the bbc.

Well I like ITV news better than BBC One news, and so do my friends from America! We agree that ITV News is much better look, more exciting than plain >>old<< BBC News look. BBC regions are good though!
That reminds me, why did I get BBC ?_?_?_?_?_? and Cumbria as regional news on my pocket TV today? I live in Leeds?!?

I lived in Leeds for 4 years and could get Tyne Tees and BBC NE&Cumbria - its because the Bilsdale transmitter is one of the most powerful in the UK, Granada Media Sales claim that in theory Tyne Tees can be received as far down South as South Yorks.

Something I agree with the Sun on:shock: I think that the only ggod shows they've got are ex Central.
