They need a common link other than the logo between the idents too - that's where the original emotions idents failed and the replacement "Alive with Colour" idents succeeded.

Does anyone know what time the new look will air ? x

This is the case with ITV though, they always after a few months have to tweak the original idents or logos that have been designed for the company (whether it be with colour or a clight change in shape). Can't they just get it right to begin with and air it?

What did you boys honestly expect?

The reason for such a cr*p identity is because ITV doesn't have an identity.

Sum up ITV in a couple of words? Trash and soaps? That's the problem.

These are almost the same as they have now, I can't believe its taken all this time to come up with.

I have found it amusing in recent weeks that - in terms of both the ITV and BBC World rebrands - it has been the newer members who have been working themselves up into a frenzy about all these new idents and studios/sets. Those of us who are experienced pres fans and have been around the block a few times are much more relaxed - after all, we've been through many a relaunch in which we've built our hopes up only to have them dashed. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but I for one am not expecting to be blown away.

Presumably STV and UTV are taking no part in this rebrand?

Quite happy there's a new generation of pres fans (that probably get nostalgic over the ITV heart idents).

If what I've heard about news sets is true, we won't have our hopes dashed too much Smile Might even be pleasantly surprised!

ITV Central are donating their current set to the Media Department and BCU according to my friend, which is nice as it means it'll get more use making the next generation of content producers and journalists Smile

I think we are with their bland and uninteresting idents imo

I've heard the regional news is going proper old school, with high desks and everything.
