So not just a new look from Monday but on ITV a brand new sound with a new announcing team - Gina Mellotte has already left and Mark Manchester has his last shift tomorrow. Only 2 of the current team are staying.
Apparently there are old brand amnesty bins in ITV buildings for staff to ditch anything with the old branding.
You what? They didn't do that in the past, I was still seeing reporters using umbrellas and jackets with the Yorkshire chevron on long after the 2002 relaunch, and ones with the 1998 ITV logo after the 2006 relaunch.
Can't blame him for not wanting to bin that One ITV branded USB stick... data protection and all that. He could've just covered it up with a sticker with the new logo on though, couldn't he?
Would a pre-recorded announcer over an ident at 6pm (and even 6.29pm) be on the cards with this rebrand?
I really would like an ident reinstated at 6pm. Although it's happened for some years now, it still feels odd to go from an advert break straight into the regional news. They don't even have to be region specific, just a generic "now on ITV, the latest events from across our region" would suffice.

I wonder whether, in order to give the regional programmes the same "feel" as the national news, the post-titles wideshot will have a booming male voiceover saying e.g. "This is ITV News Meridian... at six o'clock"?
I've assumed that any such arrangement would avoid including presenters names, so that the same bloke who does it on the nationals can just record enough variations for each region/sub-region, and that same one recording can be reused "forever more", rather than having to be re-recorded for every concievable different combination of presenters in every region.

That is they are still having the voiceover. What struck me and leads me to think that there might not be one or a change in voice is because of ITV London's set of voiceovers. Despite Lucrezia Millarini presenting London Tonight for a couple of months she currently has no voiceover and just uses the generic "This is London Tonight" announcement, if they were to be carrying the same voiceover then surely they would have got the current voice in to record one considering she has been presenting now for quite some time.
