Is it just me? None of these twitter links work for me . . . Shocked
Because you're on the old TV Forum instead of Neon. I complained about the same thing a while ago, and that's when I found out. That link appears as an embedded tweet when using the Neon version of the forum.

Delete the last ] on each link and it will work.

No that continuity announcer is far too butch to be Andrew Hayden Smith!

He is shouting somewhat and distortion of sound

If I didn't know better I'd say the announcements weren't coming from the South Bank but some sort of home studio via an ISDN line. (The ITV1 Wales announcers used to do this towards the end of their time.)

No preview and no mention of a new look at the end of News at Ten, but they did pan round the current set.

Just before the programme, Alastair tweeted: -

We're in, humming 'Good-bye, yellow, I must leave you - though it breaks our heart to go'. New set, music & graphics on Monday.

As mentioned in NE & Cumbria thread, new studio set for Tyne Tees is being built, so more regions may be getting done than originally speculated.

Something that hasn't really been touched on for ITV News because it (understandably) often gets forgotten about, but I wonder if they'll be keeping the voiceover or not.

The cameras struggled to keep still throughout the entire programme!

That Calendar network look from 2004 replaced a very short lived new look (quite radical). Hence a relit corporate look there
It wasn't radical as much as it was pants, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXcm5kDJUl8

The 2004 corporate identity was much needed, I think!
I never liked those titles - too plain, and they matched an already out of date national news colour scheme (because national news switched from red and blue to yellow and blue at about the same time). But I do think it was a waste of money relaunching Calendar - and Granada Reports - less than a year before the corporate revamp.

You would imagine they knew it was coming (as with North West Tonight for the BBC). Then again I suppose had they been planning the relaunch ahead of ITV planning the corporate relaunch they might have thought it was a waste not to get it to air - plus I guess it was a last bit of local defiance from regional staff and they probably had a small glimmer of hope that generic regional news would never happen.

Chiswick, not the South Bank of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if some channels do have announcers recording their stuff at home (although not for live continuity). It's happened in commercials and radio for many years

Speaking of continuity announcers, Mark Manchester tweeted this today on his last day, what looks to be the ITV1 playout for this afternoon.
