ITV Rebrand and New Logo

Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky 3, Sky Living, Sky LivingIt, Sky Living Loves and the Sky Movies channels all got new idents (completely new, not just a logo change). Sky Atlantic also launched that day and Challenge's presentation was tweaked as it moved to Sky's playout system.

That's the last occasion I know of.

If I remember rightly, in 1999, when they ditched News at Ten and moved the Evening News to 6.30, we got a glimpse of the new look, in fact here it is

And I'm sure that in 2009, there were press reports about that rebrand, with a screenshot of Mark and Julie and the new set.

I wonder if we'll get a preview tomorrow or over the weekend? Or maybe we'll just have to wait until Monday

"Last ever news at ten"

I know, little did we know then that it would come back in 2002 and 2008

I still wonder what would have happened if itv got it way much earlier in turn of date like 1995? And went for 7pm peak slot. Thus 5pm-7pm local.

I know Mark said on the last "News At Ten" look, "were back on Monday, you might notice a difference"

That behind the scenes view of the 1999 set was interesting. I'd not seen that before, and didn't realise that the large screen next to the desk was an HD back-projection screen.

I'd always thought it was just CSO, using the same technology in the later 'Theatre of News'. That's because the image was always so sharp.

So presumably 6am Monday then for the first glimpse of new look presentation on ITV, 2, 3 & 4 or will ITV wait until 9.25am ? Hopefully the various pres sites have enough facilities / resources at their disposal to catch the first glimpse of each shortly after the event.

Wonder if the first look at ITV News will be in the This Morning summary or at 1.30pm, now that we don't have the Morning News anymore.

Used to a be a very regular occasion with BSkyB - in 1993, 1995, 1996, and 1997 they rebranded all of their channels overnight and on three of those occassions a corporate logo change was involved (the exception being 1996 which was basically a redo of the 1995 idents with different music and some slightly different logos and colours).

TV Live has everything covered (I think)...

I'd always thought that too.

I like the wall of ITV logos behind the man too.

I just hope that we're not left disappointed after Monday, particularly with ITV News

I was so disappointed when I saw the 2009 relaunch and I've never like it, hate everything about it and will be glad to see the back of it.
