Is the ITV West / ITV Westcountry region still going to be one of the first to be getting a new regional set?

A few weeks back Ian Axton tweeted about there being a temporary set on the telly soon.

The programme is still coming from the 9? year old set, and they've added new TVs too either this week/last week!

Also, I wonder why for the past few months, the backdrop of the Clifton Suspension Bridge now appears to be a still image of it... it used to move!

They are taking about a new show with Trevor McDonald on their facebook they are calling it just "itv" and even the youtube link also says "itv" but the promo says itv 1 on it.

The channel hasn't been renamed yet.

It's funny because Meridian got new plasmas a couple of weeks back. I wonder why?

ITV West's set was installed (according to Google) in January 2005, not the oldest - but certainly one of them!

The image of the Tamar bridge is also now static for the Westcountry version too.

I also dipped into the programme tonight, and noticed they were still in the existing set. As someone else mentioned a few days ago - perhaps they only need the weekend to strike the set and put up the new one, especially if it's come pre-fab in some modular design.

When the new set was put up at Westcountry's former studio in Plymouth, they decamped to Exeter for a week, although they actually took the old set up there over a weekend and had it ready to go by the Monday evening's programme.

The title displayed on EPGs is controlled by the channel owner, not the platform provider (although changes are at their discretion - in terms of timing
).
Going back to 2001, on DTT 'ITV Channel 3' was renamed to 'ITV 1' a whole month BEFORE the actual rebrand took place on screen. Apparently they're not so keen this time to change anything.

This is all really thorough which I'm liking.

Little details like the mess of a website being butchered/reorganised ahead of the launch etc are making it all seem very thought through.

Changing the lot across broadcast, web, print, buildings is a massive undertaking. (By the way are the new logos visible anywhere on the various buildings yet ?)

I'd be very surprised if old logos don't appear somewhere in some form, even on screen from Monday. Didn't it take ITV Sport an age to change the colour of the logo when the '1' went from white to black Very Happy
