ITV Rebrand and New Logo

Apart from ITV1 changing to ITV, no channels are being renamed.

so having celebrated 30 years of a brand they should therefore instantly ditch it. marvellous

So are the channels being renamed or are they just staying the same?

ALL channel names are staying the same apart from ITV1 which is being renamed ITV. 'Mark' was just saying what he thinks the ITV channels should be called.

Hasn't that been said three times now? Could we introduce a policy of 'think before we post'? Would likely reduce a lot of pointless posts people have to sieve through.

So are the other channels being renamed then?

It won't happen but it would be nice if they could just give a nod to their regional past by naming them "ITV Granada", "ITV Central" etc. on the EPG at least. It'll be interesting to see what happens with ITV Wales - hopefully the Wales will be much more prominent as with this logo it'll look even more tacky than it does now if it's just in text below as small as they can possibly make it.

I don't see any reason why the EPGs won't ditch the '1'.

The title displayed on EPGs is controlled by the channel owner, not the platform provider (although changes are at their discretion - in terms of timing).

Perhaps the descriptor on Sky/Virgin/Freesat/Freeview will change to just 'ITV' instead of 'ITV1 + advertising region'.

My prediction is that ITVplc will bring back the numeral for their main channel within 18 months.

But I'm sure Pete (et al) will drag up this comment in mid-July 2014 if I'm wrong.

I'm sure it's just "ITV1" on mine (Granada), except for ITV1 Wales. As I live in an overlap area when I retune I usually have to check the listings for 6pm to check the correct region has been assigned to channel 3.
