Looks like there is a new @ITVSport twitter account now. With announcements on the individual sport accounts ie.
@itvtouringcars @itvrugby @itvcricket that everything is moving to @ITVSport (apart from @ITVFootball).

The only region I consider to be consistent with naming is London whereas others tend to use differing preferences to what the bulletin(s) are called.

Erm... London Today and London Tonight? Doesn't sound very consistent to me.

I would consider the Yorkshire (read: ex-YTV) region to be one of the few that are consistent with the naming of the news. It's always simply referred to as Calendar, whether it's a short bulletin or the main 6pm weekday programme. Some of the short bulletins often appear as "Calendar News" in the listings but I've never heard it being called that on screen.

No doubt everything will make more sense when it's actually on screen very soon, but I can't help thinking ITV News London, ITV News West Country (and so on) all sound rather jumbled and odd. Mind you I can see the reasoning in the need to build up a cohesive ITV News brand... I really hope they get it right this time round, content and image-wise.

Why do they still insist on calling it West Country on screen? Does it still go back to when Carlton rebranded and didnt want it to be called Carlton Westcountry, so we had: the 'as clinical as possible' CARLTON, WEST COUNTRY REGION?

Even more baffling seeing as the region's official name is now "ITV Westcountry"

Because the local news programme was an amalgamation of 'Westcountry Live' and 'The West Tonight'. By calling it 'West Country Tonight' they could tell both regions that they were being represented.

When they're talking about the two regions it's always 'West/Westcountry'. If they're talking about the news service, it seems to be 'West Country'.

I don't know wheather this should in the This Morning thread but, on the competiton details with how to enter, where it says enter via itv.com it really looks like smaller version of the new logo but it gold/yellow.

I meant in the sense that the London Tonight title is very recognised - whereas names such as Tyne Tees & Border News / The West Country Tonight are very 'jumbled'.

Nope it's in the 'This Morning' font.

Itv are also closing some Facebook accounts of tv programs as I've noticed on my news feed.
On the paul'o grady page they have said 'We're moving house! We're closing this Facebook page but you can join us at Facebook.com/itv for more good stuff about all our programmes. Hope to see you there.'

London Tonight's Twitter has now changed to @ITVLondon, although it's branded as ITV London Tonight.

Primeval's too, although since that's no longer an ITV show, I'm not surprised.

Noticed this morning while driving past the new ITV Granada site next to MediaCity that there was 2 workmen removing the covering on top of the boards around the building site - it had the current ITV1/2/3/4 logos on it along with some press shots of programmes like I'm A Celebrity.. .and X Factor.

Also, do we know whats happening to the 'ITV2', 'ITV3' and 'ITV4' names? To me it makes sense to rename them too - ITV becomes the 'hub' channel - like 4Seven is to the Channel 4 channels, then:

ITV2 becomes ITV Entertainment
ITV3 becomes ITV Drama - https://twitter.com/itvdrama
ITV4 becomes ITV Sport - https://twitter.com/itvsport
CITV becomes ITV Kids [it is after all having quite a song and dance made of its 30 year anniversary]

Mark.
