What, completely devoid of any personality or tune whatsoever? The only good Channel 5 News theme was the original one.
What about the 2003 one? Always liked that one, especially the sting after the headlines. Pretty much liked everything of that era really - titles, studio, theme.
Obviously the original 5 News music by Zoom was brilliant - hasn't been beat since by any news programme IMHO; however the Natasha era music was solid too and the 7pm remix was strong also, but nothing beats the original theme.
Oh and I like the new ITV logo it's a modern fresh approach, love the fact they are branding the building too!

I think the ban on advertising along the Thames is a historical thing. There are plenty of examples, as included in ITV's withdrawn 2010 planning application.
The full list of planning applications for the building can be found here. This one (from 2011, also withdrawn) is interesting!

Verbally they've been using "ITV1" less and less in recent weeks.
worth just mentioning that the cdancing on icetrail still hasthe current logo on it the audio says on itv however not itv1 - just an interesting point thatsd all

Dancing on Ice is due to begin on 6th January. Isn't there more information on the rebrand on the 15th? I can see DOI launching under the current branding- that's what happened in 2006. I'd be inclined to say the 15th is an error and it will be launched on Monday 14th.
Then the new look should come in before DOI starts. It'll be easy to update the logo on the trailer.
