Obviously for London they just need to flick a switch and maybe change the furniture for everywhere else Brum's first in line surely?


4 are going first, London, Central, West(Country) and Granada - the rest within 4 months or so!

Any further gossip on what these sets will consist of?

4 months ? So there is going to be a new look ITV News but old style ITV regional news ? Presumably they'll be recolouring those old sets to blue ?

I meant refits within 4 months or so! The colours will presumably change...

Yes, I understand. But strange given that they wanted to change EVERYTHING at once with the rebrand.

I vaguely recall end of 2012 too, unless they've purposely put it off to coincide with the rebrand. I assume the studio is ready for use because I can remember one of the Granada reporters being stood inside what was due to become the new studio.

I'm glad they're finally giving regional news an overhaul though, it has been a long time coming and there have been 4 incarnations of ITV with the same regional look (only recoloured from time to time).

Don't speak too soon - they need to rebrand too. They could simply use ITV(1)'s idents. Their website address, itv.asia, doesn't include the word Granada, so I won't be surprised to see the name gone there as well.

Given that the channel was originally called Granada TV, and their website address used to be granada.tv, it does appear that the Granada name is being phased out and will probably end up just being called ITV.

What, completely devoid of any personality or tune whatsoever? The only good Channel 5 News theme was the original one.
