So that's Downton and X Factor for 3 and.... what for 5?
I would assume the Hotel Inspector?

The 'Brand New' blog has covered the new ITV logo:

I also agree, except I think the output is the problem, and it is why I don't watch ITV
Only a matter of time before Brand New covered this and I agree with their analysis. This logo definitely fits the network's output than the current logo which is very corporate.

Change the record Martin, no one is arguing with the fact the output also needs work. You seem to be writing it off because "it doesn't matter about the brand, the programmes should be better" ...? Even though you don't watch ITV (right? May need you to confirm) doesn't mean you can't objectively talk about the branding from a design perspective, yet seemingly it means you won't.
Anyway, back to positivity and I can see how we mightn't see anything until launch now. The initial buzz is over, no new stuff is coming out.

I actually have said I don't hate the logo, and once it appears on-screen along with the rest of the brand assets, and are posted on YouTube - then I will be able to offer more of a view.
But the issue I have is the fact that this re-brand has been described as a change to better reflect their programming. I personally think ITV's problem is it's programming, and so even if this new branding is awesome, and wonderful, and the next BBC Balloon, it will still fail to bring me back as a viewer.

ITV1 screens no more **** than any other channel really - and Downton has kick started a bit of a drama revival for them with there seemingly being much more new scripted content on screen over the last couple of years than in the few years beforehand. Yes, it's a bit hit and miss and sadly when ITV take risks with drama and move away from crime and detective drama they don't usually get the viewers, but a few weeks ago ITV had new drama at 9pm 4-5 nights a week, something not seen on the channel for quite some time.
Indeed when you look at the schedules as a whole I think ITV have a pretty decent primetime line up at the moment - it's not all to my taste and not all of it brings in the viewers, but it feels like there is a lot less filler in it than their has been in the not too distant past. There are still weak points in the schedule of course, especially late nights and weekend daytimes, but overall things aren't quite as bad as people might like to make out alhtough there is no doubt ITV still need to do a lot more to improve it's overall image, and supposedly any rebrand would be the starting point in doing that.

I look at my viewing habits, and if ITV disappeared off the face of the earth today, the only thing I would miss is Poirot, and Law & Order UK.
