I really like that it's going to be flexible - and as such I suspect we'll be judging idents and branding individually rather than as a packet - on some it'll work, on others it won't.

- ITV4, which has previously struggled with its identity, will adopt a "slate grey" logo and become the "home of sport and cult classics", as well as a "man club". Channel promotion will include pub factoids - such as "One in ten children in Europe are conceived on an Ikea bed" - and idents featuring viewer nominated "dreams come true", such as driving a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool.

I was quite surprised ITV described ITV4 as struggling with it's identity - IMO it has the strongest identity out of all ITV's digital channels.

But Brekkie that's because ITV4's current package is CGI idents that usually link with the type of programme, or even type of film. For branding execs, clearly this is out of place & struggling with it's identity.

I quite like that itv news mock up using the different shades of blue. It makes it look better than a sole coloured design IMO.

I like this new logo. Doesn't it remind anyone of BBC Three's logo, though?

Yes. Does it remind anyone else of it?

Not overtly, but I can see where you're coming from.

The only Sky One logo it has anything in common with is the first one, and even that's a stretch.

If it looks like any logo, IMO it looks like Channel One, which sky actually owned!

It's different it has to be said, will have to see how it's executed on sports and news programmes, I reckon MDTA is buzzing with ideas on how to do this.
