My initial thoughts at first where terrible.
I was completely wrong.
This is excellent!

I want to see how it works on news and sport but the main ident that pugwash ident is crap.

You mentioned, several times. More than a one-line post would be welcome.

I'm sure harshy doesn't need advice on how to post on TVForum seeing as he was posting on it when it was still black and white Wink

Yes I been here a while but been admiring idents for a long time before, lets see how this is executed on screen, but if its anything like that Pugwash ident Sad

Apparently the teal turns a darker shade of blue for the evening news and a darker shade again for NaT.

Is it just me that sees a resemblance to the current (until 6am) break bumper of ITV3?
I don't understand the changing of ITV2 from their prominent green to red. Surely an orange would have worked better, although that's basing it on a colour choice from one youtube channel. I'll wait.

Other than that, the pug is cute, but the ident concept is poor, but as others have said hopefully there will be many so that we don't see the same ones everyday (though the ballerina tweet indicates two showings on day one).
The promo endboard looks lovely. I wonder if the white swipe works with other channel trailers too, and possibly into an ident?

The news set looks very nice from that image, lets see what it appears like on TV. Presumably even though they've changed studios, the picture will still broadcast in HD (even without being promoted as such).

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Someone on Twitter is implying that it's a brand new theme tune, with no bongs.

My only nitpick is, I know that the ITV news set pic on their Facebook page is likely a closeup, but that looks very much like a set that could have been made for real for not a colossal expense. Is it being virtual really necessary? The theatre of news was colossal in size so of course impractical for making in real life, but that set if built for real would look so much better.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.
I do like the set design - but will wait till tomorrow to judge.

Agreed here too, but expense may well have been a factor here, along with getting some more use out of the VR technology they shelled out for in 2004.

I've posted in the ITV News thread. If its "where I think it is"... more techno and jumpy with new composers.

Good on them if they're changing the ITV News theme. It's crap.
