What a strange bulletin that is. ITV News in the regional style

I presume there was no Regional Weather? Unless there was 'ITV Regional Weather' showing most of England and Wales?

The fact they've got a generic version is quite interesting - such exceptional circumstances like this are pretty rare. Normally you'd only have one region fail and the other take over with their usual titles. Someone obviously thought ahead.

Wonder which region would provide a generic service if Leeds went down and the north of England was receiving the same stream out of the South Bank?

I think most regions have clean versions of the titles, so they can add a custom title to them if needs be. I remember last year, when Central had a 'Flood Special' programme, it featured pictures from the floods within the titles, showing that they have the ability to generate titles for an event - when they need to.

The titles didnt look right though. The 'itv' looked different so I think this was quickly knocked up.

The multi-region weather had the Central BMI Baby sponsorship stings.

Interesting. It's a pitty they couldn't mute out the word Central so it read "weather sponsored by BMIbaby.com"

I hope ITV are being suitably penalised for this dereliction of duty in relation to their contract with Ofcom.

After all, they chose to centralise. They should therefore take the rough with the smooth.

For half the UK to lose a PSB service like this isn't really acceptable.

So you mean yesterday Leeds was doing the playout instead of TLS? (Was out most of the day lol) So I'm assuming the southern regions got Central for regional news?

These things happen though, whatever it is had to be fixed sometime at least they prepared something for it.

Besides I'm sure that missing a 3 mnute bulletin which contains very little news on a good day isn't going to worry any regulator.

Centralisation isn't the issue, it works fine 99.9% of the time

My understanding is that this was planned maintenance, presumably they just sent a generic title sequence up the day before

Just branded as ITV Regional News and 'ITV News' in the titles.

Here's the start and the end of the bulletin.

Did he really say 'Toodaloo' at the end? Shocked

[or however it's spelt!]
