Also worth noting is that the main www.itv.com website now has a link in the top right for ITV4 which points to http://www.itv.com/itv4.

Interesting! It points to ITV4 yet redirects to itv4.itv.com.

I can't quite understand why they are using the subdomain redirect, does anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: After hunting around the ITV4 site, it seems our hopes of crappy URLS are dashed again. I'm referring to this hideous URL: here. (cant paste, too long)

I suppose in theory the subdomain could be being hosted on a seperate server, and maintained seperately from the rest of the ITV website. Thus those maintining the subdomain cannot mess up the rest of the itv.com website. As for the published URL being itv.com/itv4 I suppose it is just easier for ITV announcers to say and use on TV.

Agreed about the announcers/presenters to use itv.com/whatever as opposed to whatever.itv.com, plus ITV is always prominent.
Didn't Channel used to do their sub sites in this way many years ago, I fondly remember bigbreakfast.channel4.com, though they were too close to the email addresses.

The ITV4 website has been updated again and now includes an ITV4 trailer for Kojak.

That trailer's been there for around a week now.

No, the previous trailer was removed yesterday as mentioned previously in this thread. This Kojak trailer has been added today, also giving the view three choices of connection speed for watching the trailer.

Dont know if this has been posted before but there is a new ITV Local website.. itvLocal.tv

Great, interesting, innovative. You can watch your favourite programmes, thankfully streamed in 'letterbox' in the 4:3 player area.

Currently, only Meridian Broadcasting is served by this new ITV-owned service, but so far so good.

Perhaps BBC may follow suit, and enlarge their video streams, too....

So, a week tomorrow before ITV4 launches.

I'm beginning to wonder if the presentation is going to be almost exactly the same. That is, same sort of idents just with the ITV4 logo, slap the '4' onto a box for the multi-channel ECP etc.

I hope I'm wrong, though. This all seems so weird, the only thing we've seen so for is the logo and the website, plus that idea of the "4" coming from the top of the screen to form in the logo.

I think it's looking increasingly unlikely that 1, 2 and 3 will relaunch at the same time, so we're probably looking at New Year. This is a shame actually as it would have been nice to have seen some Xmas stuff with these. Sad

Does anybody (here I am targetting people like Whataday) have any recent news on the revamp? Is the ITV4 pres finished? Any idea when we will see any more news etc?

It's finished and will have the new ITV4 logo - the future style of all ITV channel logos (who will rebrand next year)!

Is this fact or speculation? And what exactly will have the new ITV4 logo? If you know, how are the others coming along ie 1,2,3 and News?

Is the presentation entirely different to the other channels?

I don't think it's been mentioned here, but does anyone know what will happen with ITV Day when ITV1 eventually rebrands? Will it quietly be dropped!

Hopefully, as its a ridiculous situation having the brand they have tried so hard to push (ITV1) become sidelined for a large part of the day.
