In Wales does it just say ITV1 or ITV1 Wales?

God they're everywhere up here aren't they! Must have seen about ten today going into town, they're all over piccadilly gardens, st peters square, market street, king street, they'res no escaping!

I suddenly remembered about the idents with the clips the other day, funney you should bring this up. It is funny how things dissaper without you noticing. I can't remember ther last time I saw one being used. What happened to the innovative junctions.

The relaunch marks the end of the current "itv" logo. Can anyone remember when it intially launched? Way back in the last millennium!

I'm pretty sure it was October 1998 when regionality started dissapearing.

Can't wait for the new look now though, never usual say this, but I hope Monday morning comes quickly!

According to TV Ark, the current ITV Logo launched on 08 November 1999.

That was the day the blue hearts idents launched, the basic logo itself dates from 5th October 1998. (though it has been modernised along the way, most notably in October 2002).

Right up until 4th October 1998, Grampian was still using the original ITV corporate identity from 1989! (Though I believe at that stage, only the ident itself was being used, all the other parts of the package having been long since replaced).

I see on the front page of TV Forum is the first ITV logo from the 1980s, though I'm not sure this was ever a corporate logo. Aside from Central, I don't think any other ITV company actually used it in an ident...

I was wondering if it lasted longer the old IT* logo, evidently not. Although outside of Grampian by 1997/8 where was it seen? The ITV National Weather and ITV Sport being just about it?

There's a clip from Grampian circa 1997. Still using the corporate ident but talking allover it and hardly having enough time for it to run to the end!

Were YTV the only station to adapt the 1989 corporate IT* logo so that the regional logo (chevron) appeared at the end ? And how long after it was introduced did they make that change ?

There is an option to use footage behind the credits, but no scrolling, or disolving, only cuts between screens of credits. The Font is also set, as is the length. But you could use the credits over footage.

I've only just realised they've stopped doing these, god knows when it was, probably last Summer!

From looking at TV Ark's ITV1 section, there's actually 20 variants of the current ITV1 idents in use. People say they are boring but there are 20 versions!
