ITV Network Rebrand

ITV 2 makes me want to avoid the channel, because of the look and culture the new pres 'celebrates' but I will still tune into Judge Judy and repeats, which is about all I watch on it at the moment, but I like the pres in design terms, as it is visually rich and interesting, kinda like the old Coca-Cola commercials, with flowers and vines growing around things in the commercial.

At least Judge Judy is the law in action (though not quite Kavanah or Judge John Deed) and its funny watching american sue over the silliest of things (suit for Nintendo Videogames for instance lol)

Interesting mish-mash there. An image of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond, but the name of George Lazenby's James Bond movie! And the WWTBAM web address!

Why didn't they just choose burberry as their colour?

I saw a big ITV2 billboard today advertising some show (Supernatural I think) looked really good, it seems ITV are pushing the advertising of their digital channels up a notch. And is it just me? Or can nobody else escape the ads advertising Northern Lights on ITV1, it's so annoying, every bus stop, every phone box I see. Best of Friends, Best of Enemies.

I haven't seen any!

Also, they're probably not but are these billboards up in Scotland or NI?

In Wales does it just say ITV1 or ITV1 Wales?

I'm in Manchester so I wouldn't know.

I saw a poster for Northern Lights in Colwyn Bay this afternoon, and it just had |itv|1| in the bottom left hand corner.

I would imagine it would say ITV1. Here in Wales the only time we get ITV1 Wales on trailers is for regional programmes.

Nothing was mentioned on Wales Tonight about changes on Monday so im not expecting big changes on the local news especially as they only revamped 2 months ago.

Well now I do wonder why they locally brand the regional promos on HTV, when they do not for England -- perhaps it is less pressing in Wales to hide the quality of some of the regional output behind the ITV1 logo.

Before 2002 of course all trails in Wales were on ITV1, before that ITV, and before that HTV. SMG/UTV also don't distinguish between network and local promos, so it is odd that whoever work together to make the Wales promos do.

It's not as if they are promoting a strong brand, have you ever heard the station called ITV1 Wales? They don't even call it that on the local news most of the time.

I assume they do it because the channel is called ITV1 Wales and the idents say ITV1 Wales. They probabaly dont do it for the networked programme trails as they take the same ones the rest of ITV Network do and cant be arsed changing the last bit to say "on ITV1 Wales"

To me the station is HTV Cymru Wales and always will be. I only call it ITV1 Wales on here!
