I think the ITV1 idents look very european. The channels in Benelux in particular are very arty and peoply and these seem to be following suit. I look forward to seeing them in action.

Looking at those pictures I think ITV2 have the best looking idents, but they're not really idents to me just bits of film with a logo on it. I like idents where the logo is manipulated and takes centre stage like the 4 or the 2. At least it's better than the crap they've given us for the last few years. Come on BBC!! The gauntlet has been thrown down. SORT IT OUT!!

The whole idea is to change people's views of ITV1 from what people like you think it is.

Whatever your view of ITV/ITV1 is, I'm pretty sure it's negative (do correct me if I'm wrong) - the whole idea of this rebranding is to get viewers to see ITV completely differently... hopefully in a better way.

Well if you look at the history of idents gone by, you can see why I am not too enthuiastic about ITV1's new idents, but if it does change perceptions of people's view of ITV1, then I say well done to them, I just don't think pigs wallowing about in manure is the right way of going about it IMHO!

I watch ITV1 but I don't go hugging the tree in my garden. Still, the idents look good. I shall wait with baited breath. If we see more people hugging trees come Monday 16th January, we will know ITV1 has hit its target audience!

This is a good example, if its used before a drama, or sad film. I am interested in seeing how the logo forms, I see a slight bevel, and there was talk of reflections and gold bars sliding...

I think if what people felt when watching ITV was literally displayed in the idents all we would see is a woman sitting on the sofa going 'Oh no, not this again' and switch the channel.
