People are also forgetting that BBC4 launched ages before BBC3 which was much more stranger than just different presentation

I might be wrong, but weren't BBC ONE, BBC TWO and BBC FOUR all relaucnhed together, but BBC THREE was left because they hadn't recieved the a-OK from the government yet? I might have got my wires crossed.

No, BBC Four was the first to use the "boxed logo" design. They launched with their brilliant "Everybody needs a place to think" promos, BBC One and Two followed suit shortly after.
On BBC Three you are right. The channel it later merged with, BBC Choice was on air at the time, but the government had rejected plans for BBC 3 purly been a comedy/entertainment channel, hence the addition of a news bulletin and "contempory" documentories.

Hope that clears things up.

Joel.

Maybe they could change the regions gradually.Maybe London Tonight,Westcountry Live and Channel Report in November then Lookaround at the start of December, then maybe North East Tonight and Calendar on the 19th and the triple Central News's a week later on Boxing Day.

And maybe some could keep the Granada look or leave it for a while.

Well, BBC Two was the first channel to use it, in November 2001 actually. BBC Four launched in March the following year.

No sadly not, I wondered that if they were waiting for this new logo thingy thats why it still says Yorkshire Televison outside. Knowing how fast things happen at Kirkstall Road it will proberbly be a long wait by such times they might see the light and realise that regionalism is what made Independant Television great - well not too bad anyway.
They are proberbly all too busy looking for the infamous Emmerdale scripts which someone left in a pub over the weekend to be bothered with such things as corporate image... but thats another thread! Razz

The new look for ITV1 idents & presentation and ITV 4 should be Nov 1. ITV 2 and 3 should be later on. The whole rebrand for everything (website, Next screens, Saturday promos, ITV Sport logo etc) will be by next year. My friend's mum aunt works for ITV Wales but is not 100% sure.

I very much doubt that. Much more likely that ITV4 will launch with new presentation on November 1st and the rest of the network in the new year.

That's what I've understood will happen. Well, at the moment, not even ITV4's presentation is ready, so it's doubtful the whole family of channels will rebrand at once.
