God they talk some bollocks don't they! They claim "nobody" recognises the ITV branding but I know from discussions here that even if people don't like them, the four square motiv is highly recognisable.
The new idents don't inspire me with confidence (though let's see how they appear on screen). The ITV4 set is very dull - and the ITV1 set particularly looks quite boring. I think ITV3 losing it's cube is also a mistake.

Why no yellow block to the right of the 1? All the other channel idents have their block, but 1 apparently doesn't.

If you look at the aspect ratio of the pics, they appear to be cut-off, possibly from the right hand side. The suggestion seems to be that the bracket opens up. maybe this is the case and we just can't see it in these captures.

One explanation might be that those captures were taken before the logo has fully animated on?
From these images, I'm thinking that I might be pleasantly surprised by the new look. They look very fresh and contemporary - a million miles from what they've got now. I quite like the look of the ITV1 idents. The ITV2 ones look slightly headache-inducing (probably doesn't help that I've got a headache right now!). I'll reserve judgement until I see them! ITV3 looks to be very in-keeping with the golden-oldies type image - quite up-market, which will be quite a departure for an ITV channel.
