Well going OT, the ITV News and ITV4 feeds are seperate on Satellite and Cable, so ITV could make ITV4 available during the day if they wished, but they don't intend to right now, so they aren't bothering.
On Freeview between 6.00am and 6.00pm a capiton generated from either ITV or ITN still appears telling us the NC has ceased broadcasting, where as between 6.00pm and 6.00am we get an MHEG caption telling us the same thing. Frankly all of the NC's viewers would know by now that the channel has since closed. Though I'd presume this will disappear when 'ITV Kids' launches in a few weeks.

Just because they are getting rid of ITV Day doesnt mean they cant have different idents during daytime. But its ridiculous to rename the entire channel during daytime hours from ITV1 to ITV Day.

I wholly agree. They are finally sorting out the branding, it's been a mess for years. ITV Day made it worse.

Ive always looked upon CITV as a programme or programme strand within ITV. And its only on for 1 and a half hours a day anyway so its not the same as ITV Day.

But CBBC is actually referred to as CBBC One and Two respectively, obviously otherwise there would be a lot of confusion!
Plus, I don't think we actually know for sure yet the name of the new kid's channel? I remember reading that it might be called "ITV Kids".

Let's face it, we don't know what the whole package will look like, all we've got is a glimpse from UTV (and I wonder whether that was deliberate test to see what us geeks would be saying?

It doesn't look too bad, at least it's a unified image. ITV4 is growing on me as presentation, but I can't stand their pre-programme idents, they are too arty-farty for me.
