How will their logo fit into this. I wonder if they will have a red and black logo (ala BBC) or perhaps they'll go for yellow, black and blue (ala ABC News); afterall the ITV1 logo is rather similar to the ABC logo.
Has it been confirmed that ITV News will change? Afterall a lot of ITV regions have only just changed the sets in the last 6 months or so, it was be stupid to have a completely new look again.

Just the logo and colour schemes are expected to change.

I read that the blue was staying for ITV News, so perhaps they are going to make a departure from having the same colour scheme as ITV1. I imagine the logo will be white and blue, or similar.

Interesting - I read that they were going for a "warmer" theme. I cannot for the life of me remember where I read this, but it said that they were going to change the image. They also said the "theatre of news" would indeed remain.

Only the blue on the newswall has been confirmed to remain. Whether it will be a different shade of the colour is yet to be seen, however.
CHANGES ON THE WAY FOR ITV NEWS IN JANUARY
09 December 2005
ITV News will have a 'warmer' look and feel from January 16 2006 when the studio set, programme titles and graphics are revamped.
Other changes are on the way before that though; Thursday 15 December will mark Sir Trevor McDonald's last broadcast as anchor of the ITV News At 10.30. Mark Austin will be the new anchor for the programme from January 3 2006. Austin will continue in his role as co-anchor of the 6.30pm programme.
As well as having a new presenter, the 10.30pm programme will also be getting a new title: the 'ITV Nightly News'.

Yes, this was it
"From January 16, the studio and titles will also be revamped to give them a "warmer" feel with more people on view, though the iconic blue background will remain."

So it seems blue is remaining the main colour, but the studio and titles will feel "warmer".
That sounds good, I just wish the North Tonight and Scotland Today graphics change as well.
I suppose the retention of the blue will mean that regional sets do not change that much, which is good - cos I rather like them. I hope that there are yellow, blue and black in the new studio. I wonder if and how the Big Ben clockface will evolve in any revamp.
Not necessarly, if you have a look in the thread about the state of UTV, you'll see that UTV generally stick on any random font, usually Arial on their promos. The writing on this promo is probably their work
