So this person is leaving but the article doesn't state whether he is being replaced - does this also mean that the same fate for the ITV Day brand?

Nick Thorogood, editor of daytime at ITV, is to leave the broadcaster later this month.
The departure is part of a huge overhaul of management at Network Centre, which has also seen the resignation of Claudia Rosencrantz after ten years as entertainment commissioner and the appointment of Alison Sharman as the new director of factual and daytime.
Thorogood joined ITV from UKTV in November 2004 and oversaw the multimillion-pound relaunch of daytime as ITV Day. The strand has been plagued by a number of flops, including The People's Court and Nigella, but has also featured some hits, such as The Jeremy Kyle Show.
"Nick has achieved a phenomenal amount in the time he has been at ITV," said Nigel Pickard, ITV's director of programmes. "The Jeremy Kyle Show, launched as part of the ITV Day rebrand, has established itself as a key part of the schedule and several other shows have broken through to breathe new life into ITV's daytime programming. We wish Nick every success for the future."
Does this mean that we will have a new revamp of the daytime barnding?

No because it wasn't just something he'd thought about himself. His boss Steven Andrew, director of off-peak quote "oversaw a multimillion-pound relaunch of ITV daytime, which was rebranded ITV Day, last April". It was also a priority of controller of programmes Nigel Pickard as well.
ITV Day isn't just an ident, there was much more behind the scenes than that, hence why they were going on about it for years before it actually launched

I suppose we wait and see, ITV Day would need to get a new logo anyway, as the whole ITV family is re-branding. I imagine a logo similar to ITV 4 Movies logo only with Day.

That looks really cool Martin. When I first saw the new ITV logo I didn't like it but it is starting to grow on me!
Any chance you could knock up a regional ident version aswell - possibly a Wales one? Thanks
P.S. I know this isn't a mock forum but it would be great to see it!

ITV to unveil redesign of channel logos
by Sam Matthews Brand Republic 6 Jan 2006
ITV: new-look logos
LONDON – ITV is rebranding its channel logos to bring them into line with the new ITV4 logo, using the same design in a variety of colours.
ITV will unveil the new logos on Monday with the on-screen launch earmarked for January 16. It is expected ITV1 will adopt the same edgy design as ITV4 only with a colour scheme of black and yellow.
The redesign is part of dramatic overhaul to bring all ITV digital stations under one clear identity for the digital future. As it stands, ITV1, 2 and 3 still have the yellow and blue while ITV4 has an sharper looking logo with white, black and green.
The new logos were created by Red Bee Media, formerly known as BBC Broadcast

News item about rebrand on Broadcastnow.co.uk . You need to pay to read the article, but the 2 versions of the new ITV1 logo are currently on the front page.
Edit: they unveil them next week with on-screen launch on the 16th

The Broadcast Now piece is worded confusingly. When I first read it I thought it was the new idents that launch next week.
However, I think it's the press launch of the new logo that is next week - with the on screen launch a week later.
