Did I not tell you what colours the logos would be ages ago? Razz

You did?
Please could you tell us again as I can't find it anywhere! Thanks.

Had a quick search, it was from a thread I remember well, it claimed the new logos had been unveiled over at DS, but it was pretty obvious the logos were a mock up. See here. From that thread, Whataday posted this:

From what I remember, ITV1 was yellow, and ITV3 was blue. I can't remember ITV2 but it was possibly red. The numbers have no curves, they're just straight lines.

Thanks for that. The posted image (regardless of whether it was a mock) does look very similar to the billboard logo - apart from the colour. Maybe ITV bosses were undecided whether to use blue or yellow for ITV1 and have now opted for the yellow version?

It seems bizarre that there are new ITV News promotions carrying the current ITV News and ITV1 branding - does this mean that two versions of each promotion are being made with the new batch being aired from the relaunch date?

That's something ITV seem to do, for example yesterday all promos on ITV1 had the sparkly endboards regardless of if the programmes were on today or next Thursday. Now the same promos have got standard endboards.

This is different from the BBC policy which mixes xmas endboards and normal ones

Bah Humbug.

Why does ITV not consider New Year's Day to be part of the Christmas period? Bearing in mind the the BBC are still using Christmas idents...I avoided ITV at midnight so I didn't have to see the change.

They didn't change at Midnight, it was 9.25 this morning. The last Xmas ident was just before Wakey! Wakey! at 6am

It is very strange. I know that Carlton used to end theirs, but they did have a New Year's Ident, I wouldn't mind if ITV had a fireworks Ident or something!

I presume that it won't be the 2nd of january for a relaunch, as surely they'll need time to set everything up to eliminate all old graphics to set up new ones (?), and they wouldn't have bothered to bring back the usual idents for 1 day, would they?

What I would guess is they would give it a week, then bring in the new look in-time with new working week. So it would have to be the 9th, as it gives them time to make any final changes, as I seriously don't think such work would of been done over the hoidays.

Just what I think.

Im pretty excited about it though

Though of course Channel 4 did it last year, though of course ITV have 3 channels to rebrand.

Fair point, but C4 didnt have a rumour of the excat date floating around forums? They announced it, ITV are just letting us hope it will be soon

What is the general feel of ITV4 supposed to be?

A number of the idents have an oddly ominous mood to them (for want of a better word), and this is further reflected in the accompanying audio tracks.

Additionally the announcer's style is unique; talks in a bleak dead-pan way and lacks 'feeling' if that makes any sense. The only ident that is alright is the seemingly Space Invaders alien inspired one; I don't think much of the rest.

Anybody know the official names of the idents?
