Absolute nonsense!! The rebrand of the other three channels was always taking place after the ITV4 launch.

Now I don't want to turn this thread into a "revival of the regional names" or anything like that it's just something I read on a NON TV related forum (and no it wasn't Metropol)....
According to a posting on that particular forum somebody said the reason the other channels rnew idents have been delayed is because they have realised that the dissaperance of the regional names was a mistake & they were working on idents that had the regional names in them

The New Year season normally starts around the second week in January (after everyone has gone back to work), but is not one of the major seasons.
I would guess that they go for March/April (whenever Easter is next year) as that is normally a more popular time to launch new series, and ITV would want to tie it's new look in with that (although, saying that the last 3 haven't been linked to season dates)

Anyone got any more news on the revamp?
A date? We're assuming January but is this confirmed? Will ITV News revamp at the same time?

I'd say January is the second most important TV 'season', or third if you include Christmas.

Does anyone know why ITV1 have suddenly started using the ITV50 promotional trailers again? There was one after the ITV Evening News, it was only for Emmerdale & Corrie.
Seems abit odd - I thought they had stopped using them about 3 weeks ago (although I noticed at the weekend they are still using the "ITV50 on ITV3" DOG (but at least they ARE old programmes.

They used a break bumper with ITV50 on it last week during the X-Factor for some reason.

It looks like they are having the same problem as Christmas 2003, when they played the christmas next caption up until about May every now and then, and this is what is happening with ITV 50. Plus, some next captions mainly ITV day seemed to be stretched and music jumps a bit.

I know Sky's recorded announcements ocassionaly go wrong (ie announcing the next programme as the one that's just finished!), but I've never heard of Xmas N&Ns appearing in May - how embarassing!
I suppose that's what happens when you cut everything back to the bone. I bet the Continuity Announcers rarely get to check what they have actually recorded, or what idents etc are used on screen!

Err, no, hold your horses
What actually happened was that the christmas 'icy' background from ITV's christmas idents was decided to carry on as a permanent ident
