Thing is though that the young bloke that was on tonight is usually the keenest user of the itv1 tag. And yet tonight he was either not mentioning the station name or making individual recorded announcements. The two young women seem to sometimes say itv1 and sometimes Tyne Tees, which is fair enough if it's done over the course of a night.

The older bloke that talks as if he's half asleep never mentions station names, I noticed he flatly refused to mention itv1 in the last few months. I don't mind that to be honest, as long as itv1 isn't mentioned it's not too bad. We'll just have to see how Maggie does in the next few nights...

We're slagging off YTV/GMG for not mentioning station names. I have a tape with about half a nights' continuity (in-vision) on Tyne Tees c1995, and I have to say the station name was not actually mentioned that much by Bill Steel either (not before programmes anyway, he *always* mentioned it on the 'coming next' bit). Mind you, the only time he said ITV was to say 'ITV in the North of England is Tyne Tees Television' before the news, which was good Very Happy

Yeah Bill Steel would say something like,'next on Tyne Tees XXXXXXXX directly after the break', I always thought he seemed to sound surprised

'The older bloke that talks as if he's half asleep', I wonder who you mean!Smile , You don't know he's old, he just sounds like he's about 70!.

He hardly mentions any channel name, its usually something like,
'We're back in the dales......in a new series of Heartbeat......Sunday....at...eight, but now its....the millionaire...quiz'

Maggie was a keen user of the phrase 'You're watching ITV in the heart of your region, its 6.30', So she seems keen on keeping up with the latest modern trends.

Note that 'the young male' announcer, has only been announcing (on YTV) about 6 months, and is already an expert!
