I always thought Shivra was played by a female... don't know why.

Easy mistake to make, actually!

I can't recall Helios, what's that supposed to represent?

I found that one quite unfamiliar as well - It's the "sunny intervals" one, the equivalent of the sun-behind-cloud symbol on weather maps.

I absolutely love seeing them all.

As others have said I don't remember seeing them all. They were all created beautifully and had not only individual themes but a consistant identity.

It's not only a shame that we don't get these before the weather, its more a shame that broadcasters can't create a similar set of idents with such diverse themes and creativity that creates such an atmosphere leading into a programme. If ITV brought these back and just used them before the programmes, it would add something to the presentation.

What was it about the 90's that took on top quality idents. Look at the 2's, the balloons, sky movies especially.

Yes, I like the fact that they kept the same greeny-yellow background from the 1993-1996 stings. I suppose that was representing PowerGen.

Exactly, I would love to see these back on TV as well... but will it happen? Sadly not.

I'd like to see them too but I have issues with them looking very 90's and somewhat outdated and not too thrilled about the idea of seeing them ARCed to fit 16:9.

Hmm, don't seem to remember Frice... maybe that was the one that got restricted to the watershed? I seem to remember seeing Norwin a few times as well, as I remember the music from Norwin's variation.

I'm sure Norwin was the one that got restricted, but I may be wrong. Either way I have to say Frice is less unnerving than Norwin in my opinion...

I've got a collection of ITV weather jingles in one single MP3. It's mostly from the 1993 set, but about the last two minutes there's some jingles from the 1996 set. Both sets aren't complete though, but it's really worth a listen if you've haven't heard some of the jingles in ages . I'll upload it when I get the chance.

I have the same file too... some of the 1996 jingles are in their shortened form rather than the full versions you hear on the YouTube clips.

Had to happen eventually...

Shame they won't really be going out on a high on-screen, that was years ago - but I guess the partnership will be remembered as such, with the success of the WeatherGens.

i'd imagine a great deal of EDF's UK sponsorship budget will be committed to the london olympics now that they're one of the key sponsors.

suppose its a deal that would be of interest to many of the bigger utility and insurance companies
