ITV National Weather

Are they running out of presenters? (October 2005)

I'm very surprised that this hasn't been mentioned, but for those of us who have been watching ITV Weather for the past 2 days will have noticed that GMG North Weathergirl Jo Blythe is doing the National, which it appears is coming from London. Leeds has done National Weather before, but it is clear when they're doing it and not London due to the poorer picture quality.

But I'm thinking, where's everyone else? No Sían? No Martyn? No Becky? No Robyn? You could have Chrissie but she's doing ITV London Weather, though I'm NOT complaining that Jo Blythe is doing the National. Very Happy

Well neither Robyn or Chrissie are no longer part of the national team.

I was just about to post the same thread, Jo Blythe is down to do the ITV National Weather all week. It looks like she's now hit the big time.

Here she is...

So what do those of you outside of the GMG North weather area think of Jo then?

Just going to say , When these graphics where launched we were promised them zooming down to street level and everything now i opened the ITV Local player for ITV Meridian last night and relised that the meridian weather does go down to street level

Then my question is why doesnt the national ?

I don't think a lot of Jo Blythe, but she's miles better than Becky or Sian. Put Bob on I say. Laughing

Indeed, as we've mentioned in the Yorkshire thread, I think if this week goes well (and it seems to be from what I've seen so far), she may be popping up ( Smile) more and more in future.

Scottish and Grampian need to do something about their weather forecast. Very dated and we still get the continunity announcer reading the forecast out...

It is horrendous. Nothing like as fab as the Tyne Tees Weather slide with voiceover (anyone know if that's still shown?!).

I've seen the map thank-you, looks like something played out from a Windows 95 machine in 256 colours.

I like Jo but I think Becky Mantin is good too.

Imagine Bob on national weather, what on earth would southerners think of 'skitey bits' Laughing Laughing Shocked

I read on a website some where that they are going to be changes to graphics and the systems shortly to coincide with the rebrand, don't know how true it is
