Just seen this on the Powergen website, a handy reminder of all the different looks the ITV National Weather has had:
"We’ve been sponsoring the ITV National weather for a staggering 15 years. In that time, we’ve seen quite a few changes and some fantastic weather idents that have been recognised nationally for their creativity and humour.
Since the popular ‘WeatherGens’ in 1996, we’ve seen ‘Controlling Energy’ and the very successful ‘Monsters Inc.’ in 2002. We launched ‘Power in Good Hands’ at the end of 2002 and now it’s Bob who introduces the weather.
Our weather sponsorship can be seen 3 times a day, 365 days a year all over the UK. Bob's currently on air in our autumn themed idents so make sure you look out for him at the start and end of your ITV National weather bulletins"
As they are seemingly proud of their past idents they really should bring back the 'WeatherGens' by popular demand. I'm sure it would give them a lot of goodwill from their customers
