Why get over it??

The whole point is that the 'win' was missed as ITV were on a commercial break when the main fight was one. I don't even recall them showing this bit - just saying something like "it was just seconds before you returned"

So you say that if the FA Cup final goal is missed as ITV was on a break at the time - we shouldn't mind as they are a commercial channel?

If that is the case - then commercial channels who insist on putting ads in the middle of major live sports events - should not be allowed to show them!


It's not a good analogy really is it, a football match is not won or lost outside of the action in the 90 minutes. Boxing is fairly unique in that respect.

Football maybe a bad example - but how many times have ITV missed an incident in a F1 GP?

If boxing is 'unique' - then ITV should treat it as such and leave out the ads mid-fight.

If you are going to miss important bits as you may be on an ad break - then give up the live rights and put the ads into a recording!

This was the first ITV fight I have watched - and I missed the end due to an ad break - didn't even get to see a replay of it!

Maybe its time for OFCOM to allow the UK to do what some other countries do during live sports - inset the live sport into a corner during ad breaks.

Similar to Sky Sports on a Saturday afternoon - but not just with text.

I noticed this last week, I was watching the British Grand Prix on RTL Klub in Hungary and there was about one advert through most of the coverage, when it was on the screen split on half and the audio came from the advert, despite the fact it was a commerical for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Looked better and worked better IMO, I don't know what's wrong with the Soccer Saturday way of doing things, and that only provides scores, not pictures!

Boxing should be banned.

Watching 2 braindead oafs beat **** out of each other is as entertaining as watching a dog fight or cockfight.

When ITV show football they wait approx 50 minutes from kick off to the end of each half before the ads, they seem happy to do this. Is it not too much to ask to go through a single boxing match without interuption? After all they rarely go the full distance.

By the way....I'm "over it"
