That is not true. ITV still beat BBC1 in the all important peak time. This is the time when most people are watching TV and ITV still dominate in peak time. It's just that BBC1 has a very strong daytime line-up now.

I am so happy that people are now watching the BBc more than in recent times. I have noticed though that even when 10m viewer programs run up to 10pm on ITV, the BBc seems to win the mnews battle. the public have good taste.
Although I agree, the peak time which they often loose is more important.

But you'd be amazed at how much certain things influence your viewing. I remember speaking to a certain person trying to explain I'd watch less ITV as a result of getting Sky and not believing it! But with the lack of EPG now and next, the fact I'm in such a poor analogue reception area means I have to pull out the aerial regularly, means that it isn't as simply as being lazy enough to press 'tv' and button '3'.

From what Ive bene reading on other forums, most people dont watch ITV cos its not on SKY and they cant be bothered to pick up their TV remote and press '3'. Not really a hard task to do.

You gullible people, this is over a 14 week period for goodness sake. ITV is still ahead across the year, it just depends on what criteria you use to judge 'the most popular channel'. ITV still dominate in peak time when most people are watching so is BBC1 the UK's most popular channel when least people are watching then ?
Oh by the way, Millionaire and Weakest Link went head to head last night, and Robinson was trounced. Tarrant = 10.2m Robinson = 3.8m
