Or the next time Google send the satellite over to update the maps..
I'm not familiar with the rooftop of the building, but I wonder if they've considered putting a logo actually on the roof, visible only from above. Not an eyesore to those below, but the tower is clearly visible on approach to Heathrow.

Obviously they need to seek planning permission to make structural changes to the building like adding a steel logo - but what's to stop them hanging a canvas banner over the side for a few months until the council get used to it and cave in to their request?

I think tarpaulins and similar still require planning permission in some cases?
My company erected some temporary marquees in the car park for six months, and they required approval.

Yes, ITV have previously been refused planning for a huge banner advertising The X Factor.

Signage and suchlike bigger than 1ftx1ft requires planning permission I believe. Or something like that.

What about three signs each no bigger than 1ft x 1ft? One with a big "I" on it, one with a "t"...

I don't know. Why not have a look for the rules if you have an hour to spare and you want your brain to explode? In all honesty, it's a bit complex.

This may be a good place to mention that ITV have bought the building for £56m. I have a hunch they may be planning some significant development with it too.

Boring update: it could well have been up for a while but I noticed today that ITV have erected a permanent sign on the Thames size of the building. It's on the top of the shorter building closest to the Thames so it's not high up like it would have been on the tower which is probably why it was given permission.
No photo, I was busy being jostled about at a rowdy Vietnamese festival.
