good spot. I don't thin the tower's ever had ITV branding before - has it even had LWT branding in the past?

I'm told that, internally, they're referring to the launch date for the new brand as "day one", and the actual date is embargoed. Perhaps a lack of confidence that not everything will be ready in time?

ITV seem to be "embargo'ing" everything. Obviously worried about something going out of place.

As for the branding on the tower, I thought that you couldn't advertise on the Southbank/Thames. Only the OXO tower got away with it for some reason? :S

THe signs on the tower will be black, so barely visible most of the time.

Looks very odd. As I'm keen on architecture in some way, logo looks awful on that South Bank building, it should be bigger. Otherwise, impression of the building is quite distorted.

But entrance looks fine, anyway

Yes. It was there until just before the end of the regional name. The lettering was on the river facing side of the tower, on the extreme top right.

I think ITV are doing the right thing but i don't think they need as many, maybe just 2 big ones. One on the front and one on the back!

Are you sure about that? I don't remember there ever being a logo on the main tower, although a still of the building was sometimes shown on screen with a logo in that position.

In the 80's there was a logo facing the river but right down on the bottom bit, I think in the location labbeled 'Podium staircase' on that planning application. I think that might have gone when it became 'The London Studios'

Odd that they're going for black and non-illuminated around the tower. Is the tower itself floodlit at night?

I think it will be, along with the coloured strips of light up the clearances in the cladding.

Yes - pretty sure...
..even though a search via Google images throws up (unlike someone with Norovirus) nothing.

Inspector, in my formative years, as part of a School day out we all were packed off on a coach to go to London.
Boat trip was included, and the highlight for me was seeing Kings Reach Tower and the LWT logo at the top - although I do agree with you, there another one lower down on the podium building.

All of course is a roundabout way of finishing off the story. Back in class the next week, we had to write down our favourite buildings we saw.
Yep, every one else said Big Ben or Buck Palace - mine was LWT and Thames Television on the Euston Road (which I saw as we flashed past it on the coach belting back towards the M1 motorway.)

That has just taken me back to my childhood days seeing Thames TV on Euston Road, and yes even I, just a simple Boltonian child on a trip to London, can remember seeing the LWT logo at the top of the building
