Odd they scrap it for that but not the Champions League highlights.

Suspect it will return but possibly reworked as a weekly one-hour show.

I think doing better than Newsnight is clearly a small victory and probably justifies keeping it on air all year round.

Not particularly. Despite his right-wing rhetoric on LBC, he's a natural radio broadcaster which doesn't transfer well to television.
