Personally I feel that there are way too many US TV shows on UK TV.

You haven't been to Canada or Australia then.

No. I haven't. But the situation there is just as bad. Having seen the schedules of Australian TV Channels.

Dont look at 1980s TV listings....... Here is a gem from 1980s on prime time BBC1. The channel was told off big time when in 84 the biggest shows were all imports.

I mean we have a lot of imported ideas. Original Ideas are hard to come by that is true. But original ideas are needed more.

There's not really any such thing as a truly original idea, everything is derivative of something, and TV companies around the world import ideas from everywhere else. The UK certainly exports much more than it's fair share of creativity.

US TV is full of British ideas, talent and formats. Just look at James Cordon's show, heavily influenced by programmes like TFI Friday and Graham Norton

I have actually watched many US TV shows and have actually seen the similarity between US and UK TV shows. Personally I feel that there are way too many US TV shows on UK TV.

There are virtually no US shows on the main channels now - they are very few and far between while a decade or so ago C4 and C5 would probably have at least one per night, with a couple dotted across BBC1, BBC2 and ITV too, though usually off-peak. Admitedly C4 and C5 have largely moved their imported shows to the digital channels, but even so across ITV2 and More4 especially they are few and far between nowadays. E4 has a healthy number of them but they also seem to have more original UK content on air at the moment than they have in some time too. The same can be said for Sky1 too and I think actually in general there is much more emphasis on original content from the digital channels than there was a decade or so ago.

Given that the main stations are filling their prime-time schedules with unmitigated (home-grown) garbage for the most part, it would probably do them a lot of good to show a lot more imported programming, and dedicate their resources to a smaller number of shows that are actually half-decent. ITV in particular.

Is this chat show definitely going ahead?

Is it the end of News at 10 o'clock on ITV?

They are doing 10 non-broadcast pilots last week of Novemeber/First week of Decemeber.
Has the working title of 'The Nightly Show'

Being 'recorded' at The Cochrane Theatre in Holborn, which, was the same venue that the last series of TFI Friday came from.

I still think it will be going at 10.40.

I really think if there was any truth to News at Ten being bumped for it we'd have heard alot more about it, especially from within ITN.

If it's a 30 minute show, then to me 10.40pm sounds right. Bearing in mind as well if it's after NaT, then STV will most likely have to show it after Scotland Tonight. Or they could not show it altogether which they have been known to do in the past.
