The Nightly Show

Wow. What a transformation.
As Dbl says a shame that it didn't launch like this. Hopefully this isn't just for Bradley this week, though with the change to the set I doubt that it is.

Bradley is a brilliant host. A very entertaining programme. The Bolton chase and date worked very well. It felt very pacy and imo could have definitely done with a longer time slot.

Michael Bolton is doing the rounds. He's on GMB tomorrow morning.

I bet it is, Bradley is an old school entertainer so you can see why he'd want a house band, I can't imagine Jason Manford working with that.

I expect Jason will do more stand up at the start, and maybe some more news related gags, which Bradley isn't doing and we haven't properly seen for a while.

I think it was more it wasn't very funny.

Yeah, Fake News at Ten should have been punchier...and funnier.

Still, the show in general did have a great pace. The titles worked well with the guests names (very SNL!) and so much better for having a house band. The backdrop was much nicer and they finally did the music-into-the-break

Feel sorry for that woman though, never meet your idols I suppose.

One of the better episodes by far - enjoyed the Chase segment and it had a good pace throughout the show. Walsh himself is a great host - extremely enthusiastic to say the least.

However, the stint with Pasquale and his pierced nipples was full of cringe.

Good episode, but it's going to take some time to sort out the perception problems with the Nightly Show. Feels very experimental to have a host each week, but it doesn't leave enough scope to be fair.

Definitely one of the better shows, Bradley made it look easy! Also loved the Fawlty Towers style name at the beginning with Brad's name

Not a fan of the idea of giving Dermot an extra week. Could they really not have found an extra presenter? Or are they just doing him a favour because he lost a show? If he still got paid, I'd say he was at an advantage.

It does lend weight to the theory that the guest host strategy is to give a ton of presenters a run-out and find a new chat show star.

What I don't understand about this is that if they are to recommissioning the series it will be for next year. Surely if they're looking for something similar to the US nightly chat show they need to bring it back sooner than a years time.
